As one of the original brokers to join Barbara Fox over thirty years ago, Ellen Monness has been a valuable resource to the firm. Forging long-lasting relationships with her clients and customers, she is recognized for success in selling properties throughout the city and locating difficult-to-find properties time and again for her customers. Personable, warm, and informed, Ellen is the consummate broker with a unique combination of skills and accomplishment.

An active member of The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and a member of the Board of Managers of her condominium where she served as President for 11 years, Ellen is familiar with the inner workings of real estate deals and business.

Prior to joining Fox Residential, Ellen owned and operated a wholesale food business, and also furthered her lifetime commitment to volunteering for not-for-profit organizations. She has spent time volunteering for and subsequently served as Director of the Mother-Child Home Program in Oyster Bay, NY, a nationally recognized educational project for low income families. For well over a decade, Ellen was an active volunteer at the McCarton School in Manhattan (now renamed “Keswell School”), a school for autistic children. She has even used her real estate experience to assist yet another not-for-profit school for children with special needs in its search for new and larger space.

At Fox, Ellen has become partners with Gloria Sokolin. The two have been colleagues since the establishment of the firm and enjoy a most successful collaboration. A native New Yorker, Ellen takes advantage of everything the city has to offer.
